So if it closes down but due to its usual volatility it was briefly up 1%, that counts as a win? And since you are signaling after the close, shouldn't it be based on the high - open or close - open rather than the high - the close 1 day ago (since that trade would be impossible to actually make without a time machine).
The reason I ask is that I am getting signals to short the ^VIX tomorrow, but that could just as easily be done AFTER a run up in the morning (preferable, actually).
